A luminare Inspired by the time I spent working on placement.

Fluorescent chandelier is a design of luminare influenced by the time I spent working at Sculpsteel and visiting the 2015 London design festival.
From the beginning I wanted to involve human interactivity with the product, this is where the idea of changing the angle of the lights by the use of an umbrella type mechanism came from. and gives the impression that the light opens like a blooming flower. The light could be machined out of materials such as: brass, copper and steel. With different finishes applied to these materials such as brass/copper patinanation and nickle plated steel including the raw finishes. I hope to one day further develop and prototype this design as I feel it has a lot of potential, with the capability to expand into a family of lights. |
